PPA: Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the process for application evaluations for the Professional Program in Accounting (PPA)?
A committee of selected AIM faculty members will review the applications.The faculty committee will interview all interested students in the fall semester of junior year prior to determining admission. Admission is not guaranteed based on meeting qualifications.
- When can I know the application result?
Results of application will usually occur in October of the junior year.
- What happens if I fail a course during the PPA program?
A 3.0 GPA must be maintained while in program. Academic probation will occur if a student drops below a 3.0 GPA.
- What will the class size be?
Typical class size each year will be approximately 40 students.
- Do you conduct interviews for admittance into the PPA program?
Yes, interviews will be conducted prior to admittance into the PPA program.
- What is the cost for each semester if I join the PPA program?
There is no cost for being in the PPA program beyond traditional tuition and fees for courses.
- What kind of scholarships are available and how do I apply?
A limited number of scholarships will be available to 5th-year (graduate) students in the PPA program.
- What is the process for applying to PPA?
The application can be downloaded from the PPA website, and it should be submitted to either Amy Troutman (SOM 4.419) or Matt Polze (4.432). The application deadline is SEPTEMBER 15. Selected applicants will be interviewed, and admissions decisions will be made by early October.
- When is the application due?
Applications must be received by SEPTEMBER 15.
- How do I submit an application?
Applications can be downloaded from the PPA website and should be returned to either Amy Troutman (SOM 4.419) or Matt Polze (SOM 4.432).
- Is there any additional financial cost to students for joining PPA?
There is no additional financial cost associated with joining PPA.
- Are there PPA-specific scholarships available to students?
A limited number of scholarships will be available to fifth-year (graduate level) PPA students.
