MBA Degree Plan

Prerequisites

Prerequisite knowledge in calculus and competence in personal computing are requirements for the program. A deficiency in calculus may be remedied by taking MATH 5304 (Applied Mathematical Analysis for Non-Majors) or MATH 1325 (with a grade of B or better). Competence in personal computing may be demonstrated by: completing BA 3351 with a grade of B or better or completing an equivalent course at another university with a grade of B or better. Deficiencies must be remedied within the first 12 hours of graduate work. Degree credit will not be earned for program prerequisites, though all grades earned in graduate courses impact the student's cumulative GPA.

Business Core (29 credit hours)

Students must satisfactorily complete the following 29-hour basic core of 11 courses with a GPA of 3.0 or better.

Elective Credits (24 credit hours)

Students may choose any graduate course offered within the School of Management as an elective. Students cannot receive credit for more than 12 elective hours in any single functional area (noted by the area prefix).

Focus Areas

Focus areas are informal collections of courses that fit a student's educational goals and are often aligned with functional area specialties, such as finance or information systems. Students may choose a focus area within the 24 hours of electives, but are not required to do so. Examples of focus areas:
