Graduate Admissions Requirements
Admission requirements for degree-seeking students
Below are requirements for students seeking the Master of Business Administration degree, the Master of Science degree in Management and Administrative Sciences, the Master of Science degree in Accounting and Information Management, the Master of Arts degree in International Management Studies and the Master of Science degree in Information Technology Management.
An official GMAT score report no more than seven years old by date of application is required of applicants who do not possess a doctoral degree.
Official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended, certified, signed or stamped by the registrar and sent directly to the UT Dallas registrar are required of all candidates for admission. The transcript from the degree-granting institution must show conferral of degree. For admission consideration, the student's undergraduate grade point average will be calculated based on the last 60 hours of undergraduate academic coursework (on official transcripts). Transcripts must also be submitted from any graduate programs in which the prospective student was enrolled.
An official TOEFL score report (Test of English as a Foreign Language) completed no more than two years prior to application to the UT Dallas School of Management is required of all international students.
A resume detailing the applicant's employment history since high school is required of all applicants.
Letters of recommendation from three people (employers, community leaders, teachers, etc), are required of all applicants.
One-page essay outlining the applicant's academic interests and goals is required.

Non-degree seeking students
Students who desire admission as non-degree seeking students must meet all the admissions requirements specified above for degree seeking students, including all relevant test scores (GMAT, GRE, TOEFL). Students who decide to switch to degree-seeking status must apply to the degree program. If they are admitted, 6 credit hours taken as a non-degree seeking student can be transferred to the degree program.
Conditional acceptance to the School of Management
Conditional acceptance to the School of Management graduate program may be granted with the recommendation of the admissions committee and the dean of graduate studies. At the time of their acceptance, students will be informed of the conditions they need to satisfy to become fully admitted degree-seeking students. Students may be in conditional status for only one semester and must fulfill the stipulated conditions by the end of the semester. Conditionally accepted students will be restricted to taking no more than 6 credit hours during the semester and may only enroll in courses listed as basic core courses on their degree plan.
Please note the following special conditions of non-degree seeking and conditionally accepted students.
Students in this country on an F1 or J1 Visa may only be admitted to degree-seeking status. Please consult with the International Admissions Office if you are in doubt concerning your status.
No more than 6 credit hours taken as a non-degree seeking student or conditionally accepted student within the School of Management may be applied toward a master's degree. There are no exceptions to this policy.
Prerequisites for all School of Management master's degree programs : Completion of MATH 5304 or the undergraduate equivalent (MATH 1325) and BA 3351 (Introduction to Windows and Applications) with a grade of "B" or better.
Students who do not have these requirements may be admitted into the school, but must satisfy them within the first 12 hours of UT Dallas coursework. Certain programs within the School of Management may require additional prerequisites. Contact the Advising Office for details.
